Kolibri: An example of a local service on a LibreRouter network

Kolibri makes high quality education technology available in low-resource communities such as rural schools, refugee camps, orphanages, non-formal school systems, and prison systems

LibreRouter is a free hardware and software router, designed and produced with features that aim to make it easier for communities to install their own mesh network.

They work really well together!

Let’s try it out:

Steps

  1. get a raspberry-pi and a librerouter

  1. setup a Kolibri instance as explained in their guide.

  1. connect the kolibri to the librerouter

This is how it ends up connected:

What happens when you connect a Kolibri device to a LibreRouter network

You can access Kolibri through your web browser on your computer or phone at http://kolibri/ .
